A great project deserves a great board. Juries are unfair in one specific way: an average project presented beautifully outshines a great project presented poorly. This free eBook, written with Tifa Studio, teaches the craft of the presentation board, with analysed examples and practical tips.
You learn how to choose a format that fits your project, build a visual hierarchy that guides the jury's eye, pick type and colour that support your concept, and study real boards to understand exactly why they work.
📦 What's inside
- Orientation and layout: choosing a format, and whether your story works best as side by side boards, a sequence or one big poster.
- Structure and text: the story of your board, and why less text is better (generally, the jury will not read it all).
- Backgrounds: active or passive, when a white background works and when a context background helps the viewer understand the visual.
- Fonts and colours: why fonts are an important element, and a list of recommended fonts to start with.
- Types of boards, example analysis, tips and tricks, with small tasks such as analysing the structure of a real board.
- Unlimited Q&A: questions about the book are welcome at contact@illustrarch.com.
🧩 Formats and compatibility
