Illustrator

Vector assets for Illustrator: cutout characters, top-view planting, diagram elements and rendering kits that stay sharp at any output size.

Vector is the right format wherever a drawing will be scaled or printed large. Line weights stay true, edges stay clean, and a plan exported from CAD keeps its hierarchy instead of softening. That is why board work, diagrams and portfolio spreads usually pass through Illustrator even when they finish in Photoshop.

The discipline that pays off is the same as in CAD: named layers, consistent stroke weights defined once as styles, and colour applied through swatches rather than picked per object. Change a swatch and the whole set updates; pick colours by eye and you will be hunting for the odd one at midnight.

See InDesign versus Photoshop for portfolios, line weight conventions and choosing typefaces.
