The brief holds the answers, if you learn to read between its lines. Most students skim it and pay for it at the jury. This short eBook, written with Tifa Studio, changes how you start every project: what the brief and programme really are, how to analyse them, how to improve your programme and how to collect the right data, with example projects throughout.
You learn to spot what the brief is really asking beneath its bullet points, turn vague requirements into concrete design drivers, and build a programme that strengthens your concept instead of fighting it.
📦 What's inside
- What is the brief and program? What each one is and what it asks of you.
- How to analyse the architectural brief: read the whole file consciously, research the concepts it mentions and rediscover the real meaning of its words.
- Ways to improve your program: the factors that can change it, including data, the essence of the problem, target users, social environment, project priorities, programme format, client, philosophy, project reason, regulations, design criteria, precedent programmes and analysis.
- How to collect data about your project: a "Let's practice" walkthrough on a real studio brief for a rehabilitation and wellness centre, from the project title to questions, research and a mind map.
- Example projects and a lot of tips, showing the method applied from first reading to design decisions.
- Unlimited Q&A: questions about the book are welcome at [email protected].
🧩 Formats and compatibility
